Inclement Weather Policy

Before, during and immediately after inclement weather and snow storms, Carroll Lutheran School will generally follow the decisions of Carroll County Public Schools (CCPS) for delays, early dismissals, and school closing.  However, in considering the safety of our families and staff, the CLS Administrator reserves the right to make their own decision regarding closings, delays, and early dismissals.  You will receive Parent Alerts to your cell phone and/or email regarding weather related changes.  Our school delays and closings will also be posted on WBAL website and will be announced on WBAL TV as well.  We do not post weather related delays or closings on our Facebook page or CLS website.

After a storm, when roads are cleared and our students can safely return to school, but CCPS remain closed as they clear bus stops and parking lots, the CLS Administrator reserves the right to reopen school ahead of CCPS.  If this occurs, families will be given sufficient notice through the channels listed above in order to be prepared to return to school.

Before and Aftercare will follow all delays and closings.  For example, if school is on a 2-hour delay, then before care will open on a 2-hour delay.  If school closes early, there will be no aftercare.  All students must be picked up at the early dismissal time.  And if school is closed, both before and after care will be closed.
