Outdoor School is AWESOME! PDF Print

2011_outdoor_schoolWhere can students bunk in cabins, eat family-style meals, forecast the weather, and compost their waste? Outdoor School! In September 2011 the CLS Sixth Graders attended the week-long outdoor education program at Carroll County’s Outdoor School, often called Camp Hashawha. They learned about healthy habitats and riparian buffers in addition to how to compost and save the Chesapeake Bay watershed.  Through Environmental Investigation, students became aware of their world in a way not possible in the confines of school walls.

Middle School serves others at SERRV PDF Print

2011_SERRV_field_tripOn Wednesday, November 2, 2011, middle school students joined the staff at the Brethren Service Center in New Windsor, Maryland for a day of work.  They earned service learning hours while learning about the concepts of fair trade. SERRV’s mission is to limit poverty by providing opportunities and support to artisans and farmers from around the world.

Community Shred Day set for October 1st PDF Print

2011_CLS_shredClear out your folders and pull out your old bank statements: On Saturday, October 1, an industrial strength shredding truck at CLS will be ready and waiting to shred any of your most sensitive information to bits.

The Community Shred Day will be held from 9am to 1pm in the parking lot at Carroll Lutheran School. For a free will donation, anyone from the community at large may haul in as much paper as they care to securely dispose of. Refreshments will be available and anyone can request a tour of the beautiful school facility.

Safely destroy those canceled checks and sensitive papers you've been afraid to set out for recycling!
